Houses in Alberta

Privacy

Last updated October 28, 2026. These are the terms I use. They do not remove a right that Alberta or federal law does not let you give up.

I clear snow, cut grass, and change tires at houses in Edmonton, Beaumont, and Leduc. Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) applies to personal information I collect, use, and disclose in Alberta. The federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies to personal information I send outside Alberta. I am the person accountable for this information.

What I collect

I collect your name, email, phone, house address, neighbourhood, city, and postal code. For snow clearing I also keep the driveway size and the notes you give me about gates, pets, where to pile snow, and how to reach the walk. For grass cutting I keep whether the lawn is the front, the back, or both, and whether the plan is weekly, biweekly, or one time. For a tire change I keep the tire size and how many vehicles. If you book, I keep the plan, invoices, payments, and refunds. A snow booking also keeps the visits remaining. A contact message keeps your name, email, phone if you give one, the service tab you had open, and what you wrote, so I can reply. It is not a booking.

While you type an address, the words you have typed are sent to Photon, a Komoot service in Germany, to suggest Edmonton, Beaumont, and Leduc addresses. I do not store that lookup. I store the address when you send the request or when I add the house. I also store a map point for the house so I can order a driving route.

I may photograph the property and the finished work. A photo goes on the public gallery only with your consent, and not if it shows an identifiable person or a licence plate. Other photos stay with the job and can appear on your invoice.

I do not take card numbers on this website. If you pay an invoice through Square, Square processes the card and I record the amount, date, and that it was paid on Square. If you pay by a card I arrange with you, I record the amount, date, and method, not the full card number. The site does not use an advertising or analytics account. A cookie remembers which service you last looked at, snow clearing, grass cutting, or tire changes, so the home page opens on it. My own login cookie is used only for the private admin pages.

Why, and your consent

I use this information to answer your request or message, find the house, do the work, invoice you, and handle a cancellation or refund. Sending the request form or the contact form is consent for that use. You can refuse the optional notes. If you withdraw consent, I will stop using the information unless I still need it for a tax record, an invoice dispute, or a legal claim, and I will tell you what I have to keep. Without the address and a way to reach you, I cannot do the work.

I do not sell personal information. I do not use it to make an automated decision about you.

Who else receives it

Photon, in Germany, receives the address text you type. To calculate a driving route, house coordinates are sent to the public OSRM routing service. When I open the route map, the map images come from OpenStreetMap. The public forecast uses city coordinates only, through Open-Meteo, and does not include your name or address. Those services are outside Alberta, so PIPEDA applies to those transfers. I do not send your file to a marketing list.

Invoice links

Each invoice has a private web address. Anyone with that address can see the invoice, the amounts, and photos attached to that work. Treat the link like a key. Ask me if you want it replaced.

Email

I email you about a request, a booking, a schedule change, an invoice, or a refund. Those messages relate to a service you asked for. I do not add you to a marketing list. If I ever send a promotional email, it will say who it is from and how to stop those emails, as Canada's anti-spam law requires.

How long

I keep invoices, payments, refunds, and the booking details that support them for six years after the end of the year they belong to, for income-tax records. Photos that are part of an invoice are kept for the same period. I delete other photos sooner when you ask, unless I still need them for a dispute. A contact message is kept so I can reply. Ask me if you want it deleted. Address lookups are not stored.

Access and correction

You can ask what I hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask for a correction. You can also ask who I disclosed it to. Send the request to the email or phone on this site. I answer within 45 days. If PIPA allows a longer period, I will tell you. I do not charge a fee for an ordinary request.

Safeguards and breaches

Customer records sit in the database I operate. Admin access is limited to me and protected by a password. Invoice links are unlisted.

If personal information is lost, or is accessed or disclosed without authority, and a reasonable person would see a real risk of significant harm, I notify Alberta's Information and Privacy Commissioner without unreasonable delay, and I notify you. If the incident involves personal information that was sent outside Alberta, I also notify the Privacy Commissioner of Canada when PIPEDA requires it.

Complaints

Ask me first. You can then complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta at oipc.ab.ca. For personal information sent outside Alberta, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
