House snow clearing in Alberta
Terms of service
Last updated October 28, 2026. These are the terms I use. They do not remove a right that Alberta or federal law does not let you give up.
These terms cover house snow clearing for personal, family, or household use in Edmonton, Beaumont, and Leduc. I do not clear businesses, parking lots, plazas, roofs, or ice dams.
When a booking exists
The request form is a request, not a contract. Check it before you send it. You can close the page instead of sending. A booking starts when I confirm it in writing and you do not decline that confirmation. You can correct a mistake, or decline, before I confirm and before the work starts.
If the booking is confirmed by email or another text message on the internet, and the amount is more than $50, Alberta's Internet Sales Contract Regulation applies. Whether a booking is over that amount depends on the price I confirm. I give you the same description, price, and cancellation terms either way.
Within 15 days after a booking is confirmed, I send you a copy you can keep. The copy includes your name, the date, the service, the price, how to pay, when the work starts, and these terms. The invoice is that copy when it is sent to the email you gave me.
Price
The site shows the current driveway, corner-lot, and salting rates, and any package marked public. A visit-pack price is the prepaid driveway clears only, unless that pack says corner lot or salting is included. A monthly package is one price for every triggering snowfall in the calendar month on the invoice. A full season package is one price for every triggering snowfall during November 1 to April 30, and that price includes corner lot and salting. Those are not billed again per visit. Corner lot is otherwise $10.00 a visit and salting is otherwise $5.00 a visit on a one-time clear, the seasonal route, a monthly package, or a visit pack, unless that package includes them.
The price on the request form is the estimate for the choices you selected. Under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act I will not charge more than 10% above that estimate unless you agree to the higher price before the work. A change you ask for, such as adding salting or another visit, is a new price only if we both agree. A price I have confirmed does not go up because the public rates change later.
Seasonal service is not a monthly fee. You pay the visit rate for each finished visit. A visit pack is one prepaid price for the driveway clears in that pack. A monthly package is a flat driveway price for the month it names. A full season package is one price, and corner lot and salting are already in it. They are not billed again per visit. There is no customs duty or delivery fee. Corner lot and salting are added per visit only when they apply and are not already in the price.
Payment and start date
I do not take card numbers on this website. You can pay an invoice by a Square link, by e-transfer, cash, or a card I arrange with you. The invoice shows the due date. I do not add interest.
A one-time clear starts on the date I confirm with you. Seasonal service starts on the first visit after a snowfall of at least 2 cm during November 1 to April 30. A monthly package starts on the first visit in the month named on its invoice. A full season package starts on the first visit during November 1 to April 30. There may be no qualifying snowfall within 30 days of booking. A visit-pack clear starts when I come to do one of the prepaid clears. The place of the work is the house on the booking. I always attempt the clear. If roads are closed, I am ill, equipment fails, or the property cannot be reached safely, I try to contract that portion out or refund the published rate for the part that was not cleared.
Your part and mine
You give a usable house address, tell me about gates and hazards, and move vehicles off the area to be cleared. Snow is piled on your property. It is not piled on the street or on a neighbour's property. The city plow ridge across the driveway is cleared onto your property as part of the visit.
I am responsible for damage I cause by failing to take reasonable care. I am not responsible for an object buried in snow that a careful clear would not reveal, or for damage that was already there. Clearing the sidewalk does not move your duty, as owner or occupier, to keep it reasonably safe, or your duty under the city bylaw. The service policy has the city rules and the timing target.
Bookings are with an adult. If the household member arranging the work is under 18, a parent or guardian should send the request.
Law
Alberta law, and the federal laws of Canada that apply, govern a booking. The courts of Alberta can hear a dispute. That does not stop you from using a right under the Consumer Protection Act, or from complaining to a privacy commissioner. Cancellation and refund details are on those pages. Nothing here is an agreement to give up a right the law does not let you give up.
